Kelton Thomas Pinkstone was born in Dorset on the tenth of June, nineteen fifty-eight. His father was a detective for Scotland Yard and his mother was a house wife who worked part time in a factory during the second world war. She was in her late thirties when she finally became pregnant and Kelton had come as a surprise. He was considered a special child from the beginning as the Pinkstones were certain that they would be unable to ever have children. Kelton grew up an only child and when strange things began to happen to him, there was no one for him to tell, so he kept it to himself. At ten, he was no longer able to hide his abilities when he saved a girl from drowning by making her float on the surface of the water. Kelton was put in touch with his Uncle on his father's side who also had strange abilities and was sent to live with him in Cardiff, Scotland.

Kelton's Uncle Kaleb spent a year working with the young boy, helping him hone in on his talents and prepare him for magic school. At eleven, Kelton went to Hogwarts and was sorted into Gryffindor. During the summers, instead of going home to his parents, Kelton would return to his Uncle, who furthered his education in Defensive Magic. Though the Pinkstones were apprehensive about it, they weren't sure they could keep up with a child of special needs in their older age and allowed it. Part of them were anxious to get rid of him, though they were heartbroken about losing their only child.

When he finished school, unlike most with his abilities, Kelton returned to the muggle world. Following in his father's footsteps he trained and succeeded in getting a position in Scotland Yard. He was put bottom rung, exactly where he wanted to be, looking into unsolved and unexplainable cases. The more involved in the cases he became, the more he began to realize how connected the magical world and the muggle world still were. He went to the Ministry of Magic, taking leave from his position at the Yard after his father's death, and went into auror training. Using his position in the Yard, Kelton became something of a double agent between the two worlds. Closing a lot of the unsolved cases in the muggle world, while bringing to justice some of the petty and collected criminals of the magical world.

Kelton met Amoria when she was attacked for being a muggleborn by a group of men who called themselves The Knights of Walpurgis. They married a year later, when he was twenty-one. Wanting to get back at the men who had hurt her, Kelton joined the Order of the Phoenix after Riddle took power in the Ministry. During one of the Death Eater raids Amoria was killed. To deal with the situation and attempting to overcome it, Kelton threw himself in his work and lived this way for several years, keeping quiet to keep up appearances. When the witches were kidnapped by the muggles and thrown into the tower, Kelton used his connections between both worlds to find out information for the auror department and the group trying to free the women, nearly costing him his job at the Yard. During that time, he was briefly involved with Gemma Yaxley, but quickly ended the affair when she began to show interest in Barty Crouch, jr. Swearing never to be involved with anyone working for the side who killed his wife, all interest turned to hatred towards the woman. He began seeing Lucy O'Connell instead and still does, whenever he has the ability to make time.

After Grindelwald took power, Kelton, like a majority of the muggleborns was sent to Belgium to live in the ghettos that were set up. He lost his position in the auror department and tried his best to get out of Bruges whenever he could in order to work in Scotland Yard as a way of getting information on what was going on and relaying the information back to the people in Bruges. He took part in the battle that brought down Grindelwald, then moved back to London, where he's working twelve days on at the Yard and then spending his ten days off in the auror department.

Kelton can be crude and unforgiving when someone gets on his bad side. Nevertheless, he tries to do good in every case he works. He strongly supports muggle and magical interaction. Few situations truly frighten him, but he's a bit closed off to the opposite sex, afraid that the conditions of their world will only bring on more death and heartache in his life. He tends to put himself in dangerous situations for the rush. He goes out to drink with the other detectives and aurors maybe more than he should, but he's considered an amusing drunk. He's loyal, like most in his house, to his causes and to the ones he keeps close. As long as he isn't betrayed, he'll do whatever he can for the people around him.

His mouth tends to get him in trouble. While the witches were being held captive, Kelton ended up telling the muggle world all about the magical world in an attempt to help them understand. The plan backfired and put him on the bad side of a lot of his fellow Order members, including Moody. Sometimes he doesn't know when to stop an arguement or when to walk away from a fight, whether physical or verbal.

Carlotta Pinkstone (b. 1922), Kelton's aunt. A witch who famously advocated for the repeal of the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy. She believed in letting Muggles know about the existence of wizards, and even publicly performed magic, leading to several imprisonments. Some are saying Kelton's taken after her after his incident with the muggle papers.

John Denton Pinkstone French, 1st earl of Ypres , 1852-1925, British field marshal. After a long career in the army, during which he served in Sudan (1884-85) and in the South African War (1899-1902), he was chief of the imperial general staff (1912-14) and became a field marshal in 1913. His command of the British Expeditionary Force in France and Belgium from the outbreak of World War I (Aug., 1914) to Dec., 1915, was marked by failure to coordinate the movements of his forces and heavy casualties in the first and second battles of Ypres and the battle of Loos.
